Updates from Sectionals

Saturday:

Just got off the phone with Wonder, and score reporter isn’t up yet:

A-side vs. Tufts — 11:10 (Clown had two callahans)
A-side vs. Tide — 8:13 (played ‘em pretty close)
A-side vs. Big Ego — 6:13 (ego was old and wily)
A-side vs. Gunslingers — 2:13 (clown was dead)

So they still have a shot at regionals, which is awesome. They need to win one game tomorrow.

Tide lost to Ego, Ego lost to Gunslingers, Gunslingers lost to Tide, so there are three teams in their pool that are 3-1. In the other pool, Boston Ultimate rolled.

Majors props to the first clown team ever to play at Div1 sectionals (as far as I know).

The B-team lost all three games (played in a really tough pool, if you ask me), but had a lot of fun. C-team won a game, I hear.

Sunday:

Bowdoin played its first game against Run Silent Run Deep. After being down early 3-0 and 8-4 the Clown battled to tie it at 10-10, but got cold at the wrong time and fell 15-11.

In the last game of the day Bowdoin trounced a tired Silent Strike team 15-8 thanks to great defensive play and a consistent offense.

For a team that was missing 5 of its players for the tournament the clown played with a lot of fire and talent.

Bowdoin ended up in a 3 way tie for 6th with both RSRD and tufts, it came down to point differential and the clown got the short end of the stick. So no bid to regionals unfortunatly but nevertheless an excellent weekend for everyone.

Both B and C played well on sunday as well including an awesome win by Bowdoin B over Tufts B to prove that bowdoin is better than tufts.
